Lovely stay. Friendly staff, delicious food
Stayed here for the first time on Saturday night. Received a very warm welcome and shown up to our room, which was called Collard. Lovely decor, big bathroom, spotlessly clean. A lovely view of the Kent countryside from the window. We had the seven course taster menu for our dinner. It was absolutely delicious. Well thought out and beautifully presented, Two of our party of four had the paired wines too, which were served by a very knowledgeable waitress and were throughly enjoyed. The service was really good, friendly attentive staff. Had a good nights sleep and surprised ourselves with managing breakfast the next day, even though we'd eaten a huge meal the previous night! There was plenty to choose from at breakfast. Very tasty breakfasts with excellent quality ingredients and generous portions. Again served by a friendly team. We would absolutely recommend staying and eating here and we look forward to returning.
The food was delicious and the stay extremely comfortable. We had a really restful time and felt really looked after. We had the taster menu, which was delicious. Hats off to the chef and waiting staff. All the staff struck just the right balance between being friendly but respectful. We will certainly be returning. Thank you for a really lovely break away.
Definitely worth a stay
The Marquis is a fabulous little hotel in the middle of the beautiful Kent countryside. The Granby room we had was excellent although the bed a little too soft for our liking. Everything else was just great including the breakfast in the morning where you had a good selection of cereals, juice, fruit and croissants followed by your choice of hot breakfast. We were attending a wedding nearby so didn't get the chance to savour an evening meal which by all accounts is well worth trying. Staff all really helpful and attentive.
A real treat! Excellent!
We stayed in a suite for one night and it was a wonderful experience. Great bed, plenty of room, heated bathroom floor, towel warmer and huge bathtub to soak in! Dinner was fabulous. A must is their homemade bread and service is impecable! Breakfast was also fantastic with scrambled eggs and salmon. Highly recommend!
